Operations Manager - RTO Services and Education Sector
Based: Sunshine Coast

About us:
Based in Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast, Skills Generation (RTO41008) is a leading provider of VET Training services in Queensland delivering a broad range of qualifications across Community Services, Aviation, Information Technology and Business Management. Skills Generation is a Department of Employment, Small Business and Training (DESBT) Skills Assure Supplier (SAS) in Queensland. We are currently looking to recruit an Operations Manager and join our team on a full-time basis.
The role:
The position will oversee all operational activities conducted by the RTO including:
· Student Services
· Data Management
· Traineeships
· Vet Student Loans (VSL)
Strong team management skills are essential with demonstrated experience in delivering exceptional service that is in compliance with the Australian Skills Quality Authority’s (ASQA) Standards for RTO’s, the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and related State and Federal Government policies and procedures. The role is critical to the ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement of the RTO’s processes that deliver a supportive and effective learning environment and meet the individual needs of diverse client groups.
You will be responsible for Operational recruitment and performance, including hiring / onboarding new team members, and all aspects of their HR performance management and professional development. You will be required to develop and maintain relevant relationships with industry stakeholders including corporate clients and AASN’s who the RTO is required to interface with on a daily basis to ensure the efficient delivery of services.
You will have a proactive and growth mindset, the ability to work autonomously and be comfortable delivering against KPI’s
Selection criteria, required experience and skills will include:
You will have recent experience in VET based activities, and have a minimum of 10 years’ experience from within the sector, with the last 3 years at departmental head, management or supervisor level. You will be able to demonstrate:
· Knowledge and experience in working with relevant Standards for RTOs and Department of Employment Small Business and Training (DESBT) Skills Assure Supplier (SAS) Funding Guidelines
· Knowledge of the business, compliance and regulatory requirements of the RTO
· Knowledge of issues surrounding the establishment, design and coordination of VET based business activities
· High level of organisational, time and team management skills.
· High level of written and verbal communication skills, including conflict resolution
· Strong computer literacy skills, including the Microsoft Office and Google applications in addition to knowledge of the LMS landscape
These skills will be supported via your educational achievements to at least tertiary level standard
