Our client, a leading financial services organisation seeks an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join the project team for a 6-month contract position, Hybrid working, 2 days in the office, 3 days WFH. The successful candidate will be involved in a comprehensive 12-month program of work, with the potential for extension. The primary focus of this role will be to upgrade 6 Oracle Servers from Oracle v18C to 19C, followed by the build, migration & implementation of new Server hardware into a production environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the refresh & upgrade of multiple Oracle Servers from v18C to v19C.
- Coordinate system/application upgrades to ensure all databases are successfully upgraded by the end of June.
- Build, setup & configure up 8 new servers.
- Oversee the replication & migration of data from the Legacy upgraded systems to the new hardware infrastructure into a production environment.
- Proven experience in Oracle database administration, including version upgrades and server migrations.
- Familiarity with Oracle 18C and 19C.
- Ability to manage multiple servers simultaneously.
- Experience in Server hardware build, setup & configuration.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Financial Services Experience and or experience in a highly regulated environment preferred.
