Based in Wanbi SA, in the Mallee Riverland region, you will oversee and maintain our Pomegranate Orchard, including harvest logistics, plant and equipment and external processing of pomegranates for commercial sale of whole fresh fruit, juice and concentrate.
WHAT’S INVOLVED?
Making this role your own, you will manage all aspects of the Orchard’s activities and functions, critical to both daily operations and budgetary management, to ensure that all operations and processes are carried out in an efficient and cost effective manner with “fit for purpose” fruit quality in mind.
To be successful in the role:
- You have a “green finger” – drawing on your experience and passion for horticulture, you will manage plant health and advise on best practice.
- You’ll be strategically minded – Working closely with the Group Master Blender you will plan and implement an orchard management programme to achieve strategic goals.
- You’ll have strong business acumen – Liasing with key stakeholders, including fruit wholesalers, packers and buyers, you will manage the pomegranate supply plans.
- You’ll be a strong negotiator – using your great communication and relationship building skills, you will negotiate the best possible prices with contractors and suppliers.
- You’re be a planner – engaging with picking contractors, you will ensure the harvest process is successful and product quality and volume is maximised.
- You’re proactive – be actively involved in developing new products to meet potential market opportunities.
- You’ll have a focus on safety – adhere to health, safety and environmental standards and regulations and embed a safety culture into the site.
Valid Driver’s licence and Forklift licence required.
Freshcare Certification and Fruit Fly Compliance training will be highly regarded.
