The Opportunity
The Practice Lead will share their expert knowledge and drive high-quality practice to achieve improved outcomes for children and young people, their families and carers. Some of the key responsibilities included:
- Provide local leadership to embed and operationalise the Practice Approach.
- Identify skill and knowledge gaps amongst staff and facilitate training or other development activities.
- Deliver Reflective Supervision to Senior Practitioners with a focus on reflective practice, providing educative support and ensuring wellbeing.
- Participate as part of a collaborative and collegiate network across the organisation.
- Mentor, coach and co-work with staff to ensure case management processes.
- Participate in leadership groups and other planning and operational meetings.
We are seeking an established leader with a background in community services, especially leading programs for vulnerable and at-risk children, young people and families. You will be passionate about driving, embedding and overseeing practice along with building the capability of others.
Candidates with the following experiences and skillsets are encouraged to apply:
- A degree level qualification in Social Work with eligibility for membership with AASW.
- Significant experience in providing high quality evidence based, accountable and ethically sound social work practice to children and young people, and their families and carers.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities including engaging and motivating staff to achieve practice excellence.
- Demonstrated and sophisticated understanding of the range of child protection issues and systems.
- Ability to be based full time in Mt Gambier.
- Ability to travel to statewide when required.
