AddressSeeking a qualified and experienced Orthopaedic Footwear Technician to assist in manufacturing of lower limb medical devices such as custom medical footwear and custom foot orthoses. The successful candidate will need to collaborate with the team to formulate treatment plan for patients with complex foot/ankle ailments, high-risk diabetic feet, neurological pathologies, severe foot deformities, and other conditions requiring specialised foot care. The technician will also prepare the manufacture of custom medical footwear and foot orthoses using 3D scan technology to ensure the highest level of precision and comfort for patient.
You must hold relevant qualifications with a minimum of 3 years employment in a similar role.
Main duties/responsibilities:
- Utilising 3D scan technology and other advanced tools and techniques to design and manufacture custom medical footwear and foot orthoses
- use Orthopaedic Footwear manufacturing machineries to do footwear modifications such as build-ups and rocker sole modifications.
- Utilising custom orthopaedic last to manufacture foot orthoses and footwear
- Must have good problem solving skills and keen interest in the relationship between human biomechanics and lower limb medical devices
- Must have excellent attention to detail with hand skills to complement this
- Salary $70,000-$75,000 (depending on experience) plus superannuation and annual leave
