Educational Leader - OSHC
Cairns - Kewarra Beach Campus
Term Time - 30 hours per week (7-9am and 2-6pm Monday-Friday)
Vacation Care - 30-38 hours per week
Trinity Anglican School is seeking an Educational Leader who is passionate about creating fun and educational experiences for the students enrolled in our OSHC program (before and after school care, and during vacation periods). The Educational Leader role has a dedicated 1 hour per day (5 hours per week) for planning activities for the students in the programme and administrative work, and the remaining time is spent leading and supervising the children’s activities. As Educational Leader, you will work with the Nominated Supervisor to ensure that the activities are fun, engaging, educational and suitable for both before and after school care, and for longer vacation period days.

Do you have the following…
- A Diploma in Children’s Services, or another ACECQA approved 2 year qualification (or working towards attainment)
- Experience in OSHC or Vacation care preferably in a School environment
- Certificate - CPR (HLTAID009)
- Certificate - First Aid in an Education Setting (HLTAID012)
Are you a team player who can…
- facilitate the successful planning, implementation and evaluation of a program for the service that is reflective of the My Time Our Place (MTOP) framework,
- work with OSHC Coordinator to ensure TAS OSHC facilitates quality play and leisure-based educational and care programs for children 5-12 years
- assist the OSHC Coordinator/Nominated Supervisor to implement inclusive practice and lead an environment which honours diversity, including promoting safety, participation and empowerment for all children, regardless of gender, cultural and linguistical backgrounds, socio-economic status and/or disability.
- assist in the collection, recording and evaluation of children’s records and observations, as required by National Regulations and the National Quality Standard.
- assist the OSHC Coordinator/ Nominated Supervisor with the development, implementation and update of the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) for the service.
- seek input from fellow OSHC Assistants to reflect on all aspects of the educational program, suggest improvements and continue to evolve as educators.
- under the direction of the OSHC Coordinator/ Nominated Supervisor(s), contribute to providing ideas to resource the OSHC service with appropriate equipment and ensure the team maintain the aesthetics of the environment and ensure all resources and equipment are respected and maintained.
- ensure WHS requirements are met and report any situation that may constitute a hazard to health or safety to children, families, educators, staff or visitors to the OSHC Coordinator/ Nominated Supervisor.
- promote positive, comforting and nurturing relationships with children by communicating in an open, honest manner and ensuring their perspective is regarded as unique and special, whilst act as a positive role model, by demonstrating appropriate behaviour and language.
- undertake the Responsible Person role in the Nominated Supervisor's absence.
