Lake Albert OSHC is a not for profit outside school hours care service that is committed to promoting leisure based care for school aged children in an environment that is safe, stimulating and flexible. Qualifications & experience
- Have a strong commitment to inclusion, promoting diversity and supporting individual children with a variety of additional needs.
- Experience working with children aged 5-12 years in an Early Childhood Education and Care setting, school environment or similar who have additional needs and/or challenging behaviours.
- Have a good understanding of the National Quality Standards and the My Time Our Place Framework.
- Can work collaboratively, take initiative and think critically, building professional relationships with colleagues that create a smooth running and stimulating program.
- Valid NSW Working with Children Check.
- HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting (or willingness to obtain)
- CHCPRT025 - Identify and Report Children and Young People at Risk.
Tasks & responsibilities
- This is a part time position with a minimum of 23 hours per week working shifts across before & after school care. Hours vary between 7am - 9.30am and 3pm to 6pm, Monday - Friday. Possibility for extra hours during vacation care. Additional hours may be offered to support programs & compliance.
- You will work alongside our Director and Assistant Coordinator to develop, plan and implement an innovative, stimulating, high quality and inclusive program for children aged 5-12 years.
- You will be required to step into the role of Responsible Person in the absence of the Nominated Supervisor & Assistant Coordinator.
- You will work as a member of our team, sharing the daily tasks and responsibilities to support participation of all children across all areas of our program.
- You will interact with all children and provide support to individual children when needed, including children with higher support needs.
- You will support children with a range of abilities, who can be highly active, require support with social interaction, emotional regulation and toileting.
- Assist in the ongoing development of our service's Inclusion Support Plan.
