OSHC ManagerSouthern Tasmania

Lady Gowrie is seeking Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Managers for our Southern Tasmania Services. Lady Gowrie is a non-for-profit community-based organisation providing Education and Care to children from birth to 12 years of age.

Role: Outside School Hours Care Manager

Location: Hobart area

Employment Type: Permanent Part-time, 9-day fortnight, 8 hours per day.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for two OSHC Managers to oversee 2 to 4 services each. The service locations will depend on the successful candidate’s location. The OSHC Managers are based in Hobart and are attending 1 or more of their services each day. A list of our Southern OSHC services can be found here.

As Manager you will have a Team Leader at each service and work with the Team Leaders to develop vacation care programs in line with Lady Gowrie’s philosophy Children First and the quality and safeguarding of children participating in the Service.

As part of the role, you will:

  • Manage the delivery of high-quality Early Childhood Education and Care based on quality programs and practice.
  • Build & maintain excellent relationships with principals, school staff, parents, regulatory authorities, and suppliers.
  • Lead and mentor your team to ensure children are safe and engaged in our programs.
  • Assist the development or organisational policies, procedures, and practices to promote the support high quality and cost-effective service provision.
  • Oversee all aspects of service management and ensure services are delivering high quality experiences for children.
  • Have a focus on safety for the children and your staff.
  • Facilitate regular and effective two-way communication between management and staff.
  • Lead the services through Assessment and Rating process, and targeted visits from the Regulatory Authority
  • Coordinate and approve staff time sheets and leave applications on our time and attendance system, currently, Time Target, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Roster and planning staffing and leave to ensure continuity of quality service delivery.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly review staff rosters to support high quality, staff equity and cost-effective service provision.

ABOUT YOU

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in early education and care or the equivalent (preferred), or
  • Diploma of Early Childhood Education & Care (required) (or equivalent)
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • 5 years+ experience in Early Education & Care.
  • Proven understanding and practical application of Education and Care Regulations, National Law, and National Quality Framework
  • Have a passion for creating exciting, fun, and meaningful learning and leisure experiences for children.
  • Have strong leadership and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication with multiple stakeholders skills
  • Have experience with Storypark and Qikkids or the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Hold a current registration for Working with Vulnerable People (Child Related Activity)
  • Current Police Check
