2 x Part-Time Disability Support Worker Positions Available:

An exciting opportunity exists for two energetic and experienced persons to be part of the Westmead support team. We seek a creative and enthusiastic person to deliver supports and overall daily living of our disabled community. Must be happy to provide personal care.

Positions available:

Day:

Monday – Sunday (Fixed roster between 9am-12pm and 10pm-12am). Potential for additional hours to be awarded for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Assistance with daily personal care requirements
• Engaging with clients, community access, grocery shopping, going for walks, activities, etc.
• Prompting and assisting in all daily house chores and skill building
• Communicating with participants according to their interests and needs
• Ensure daily routines are followed through
•  
• Provide support that is person centred and enables each client to express choice and control in the types of support and activities offered.
• Be sensitive and understanding to their specific needs.
• Maintaining a homely environment.
• Positive and professional communication and interaction with our community, clients and staff.

Essential Criteria 

• Full working rights in Australia
• Current drivers license
• Current first aid certificate (or willingness to obtain)
• NDISWC (or willingness to obtain)
• Police Check

Desirable Criteria

• Minimum of one year’s experience working within the disability sector.
• Experience in direct support assistance for person/s living with an intellectual and or physical disability.
• Experience in providing positive behavioural support approaches.
• Manual Handling
