The Jobs Victoria New Energy Program is a Priority Workforce Project funded to secure jobs for people who need extra support to find jobs in this growing sector. These are highly flexible and tailored jobs, and we are committed to support the varied needs of all individuals.
To participate in the Jobs Victoria New Energy Project, you must be long term unemployed, or underemployed and identify with one or more of the following communities:
- People from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds who face additional barriers to employment.
- Women aged 18 and over.
- Young people under 25 years.
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.
- People living with disability.
- People seeking asylum and refugees.
- Multi-cultural communities, including newly arrived migrants from non-English speaking backgrounds.
- Veterans.
- Single parents.
- All roles will be entry-level, no pre-training required.
- Opportunities for both full time and part-time. With the minimum being 19 hours per week.
- Successful applicants will receive required training, mentoring and supervision.
- Jobseekers may receive free TAFE training to support ongoing careers and progress within the industry.
- All candidates will undertake accredited and/or non-accredited industry-related qualifications.
Oven Operator:
The Oven Operator position is a manufacturing role than encompasses the operations of the Ovens to manufacture rotationally moulded plastic products.
The task works within a team environment which will also require individual assignments and a level of self-motivation and competency.
Primary Objectives:
- Safety: Contribute positively to an environment of no harm to anyone at any time
- Quality: Meeting production objectives for both quality and timeliness
- Innovation: Supporting and driving continuous improvement
- Culture: Help to creating a positive and healthy culture
- Always operate in a safe and healthy manner.
- Must wear all required and appropriate safety equipment.
- Must stop equipment or refuse to do task that puts yourself or others in danger and must inform management immediately.
- Must cease to use unsafe equipment and notify management immediately.
- Work with Oven team to achieve consistent autonomy.
- Maintain quality standards for product manufacturing avoiding spoilt work.
- Manage and maintain work area to always be of a tidy and safe standard.
- Maintain production standards as per the scheduling of oven time.
- Operate area in strict accordance with safety requirements and standards.
- Fix or remove tooling as required.
- Operate necessary power tools required for tasks.
- Trim and finish polymer products from oven as directed.
- Present clean product in the correct manner to the finishing team
- Operate power tools in relation to tasks and duties.
This role will require a well-organised and safety conscious individual. The person will be comfortable working alone and will also fit in well within a team environment.
