Join RVC's Water Sewer team!The primary purpose of the role is to supervise teams and provide a high level of service in the maintenance, construction and repair of water, sewer and drainage infrastructure in line with Council’s delivery and operational plans.Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead the construction and maintenance teams to ensure outstanding performance is achieved in relation to health and safety, environment, quality, people management, stakeholder management, productivity and commercial and community outcomes
  • Plan, program and prepare project documentation and deliver key Water and Sewer infrastructure construction and maintenance projects to a consistently high standard through the application of sound project management skills
  • Manage budgets and ongoing expenditure whilst maximising utilisation of resources and initiating and encouraging innovative work practices and procedures
  • Provide written documentation on work related matters, manage up and communicate effectively to all staff and other stakeholders to ensure awareness of relevant priorities and issues
  • Lead and mentor staff in multiple crews and facilitate their professional development while ensuring values and behaviours are adhered to
  • Champion a safety culture within the team to ensure a safe work place for our people by monitoring compliance with policies, procedures, legislation, specifications, projects plans and any other documentation required for the successful delivery of capital and maintenance works
  • Proactively participate as a team player to contribute towards the achievement of team goals and work objectives in a positive and supportive way, maintaining a customer focussed attitude and apply a flexible and adaptable approach to deliver Council’s commitments to the community
About YouWe are looking for a motivated leader with experience in water or sewer construction and maintenance in a variety of works. Someone who:
  • Has excellent time management and prioritisation skills
  • Is able to work both hands-on and in an administrative capacity
  • Has a high standard of oral and written communication skills
  • Can lead and managing multiple teams and build a customer-focused culture
  • Has the ability to utilise a variety of systems and software
  • Can work in a fast-paced environment and deliver high-quality results under pressure
We are seeking someone who has or is willing to obtain:
  • Certificate III in Plumbing and Drainage/Water Industry Operations or equivalent AND five years’ experience in a related environment
  • Construction Induction Certificate (WHS White Card)
  • Class MR Driver Licence
