Join RVC's Water Sewer team!The primary purpose of the role is to supervise teams and provide a high level of service in the maintenance, construction and repair of water, sewer and drainage infrastructure in line with Council’s delivery and operational plans.Key Accountabilities:
- Lead the construction and maintenance teams to ensure outstanding performance is achieved in relation to health and safety, environment, quality, people management, stakeholder management, productivity and commercial and community outcomes
- Plan, program and prepare project documentation and deliver key Water and Sewer infrastructure construction and maintenance projects to a consistently high standard through the application of sound project management skills
- Manage budgets and ongoing expenditure whilst maximising utilisation of resources and initiating and encouraging innovative work practices and procedures
- Provide written documentation on work related matters, manage up and communicate effectively to all staff and other stakeholders to ensure awareness of relevant priorities and issues
- Lead and mentor staff in multiple crews and facilitate their professional development while ensuring values and behaviours are adhered to
- Champion a safety culture within the team to ensure a safe work place for our people by monitoring compliance with policies, procedures, legislation, specifications, projects plans and any other documentation required for the successful delivery of capital and maintenance works
- Proactively participate as a team player to contribute towards the achievement of team goals and work objectives in a positive and supportive way, maintaining a customer focussed attitude and apply a flexible and adaptable approach to deliver Council’s commitments to the community
- Has excellent time management and prioritisation skills
- Is able to work both hands-on and in an administrative capacity
- Has a high standard of oral and written communication skills
- Can lead and managing multiple teams and build a customer-focused culture
- Has the ability to utilise a variety of systems and software
- Can work in a fast-paced environment and deliver high-quality results under pressure
- Certificate III in Plumbing and Drainage/Water Industry Operations or equivalent AND five years’ experience in a related environment
- Construction Induction Certificate (WHS White Card)
- Class MR Driver Licence
