Job description

More than just a name, BALTER is the sense of enjoyment you get from doing something you love, just for the thrill of it.

The cool thing is this enjoyment can be found anywhere. You could be winning surfing world titles like Mick and Parko (Balter Co-founders), or simply feeling triumphant because you've navigated the mind bend of putting an Ikea shelf together. Its purest origins can be found at the end of a good day's work when you sit back, sip on an epic beer and go…aaaah!

At Balter, we're all about celebrating that enjoyment with you, because beer is more than just a drink: it draws tribes together and is a companion to many great moments in life.

About the role:

The Packaging Line Operator is responsible for the duties involved with can and keg packaging production with a focus on ensuring that standard operating procedures are followed to strict workplace health and safety standards while maintaining a consistently high quality product.

This causal role is for up to 40 hours per week, on a weekly rotating roster from Monday to Friday, currently with the following shifts:

  • 6am to 2pm
  • 10am to 6pm

Depending on production demand and operations, you may have the ability to work the odd Saturday here and there.

Some stuff you'll be doing:

  • Setting up and shutting down our canning and kegging lines, preparing raw materials
  • Performing quality control checks of cans and kegs
  • Operating machinery for both canning and kegging
  • Shrink wrap finished product on pallets and moving to cold room
  • Dispose of improperly filled or damaged cans and packaging
  • Troubleshoot and assist with machine failures
  • Washing of equipment, floors and tools
  • Contribute to improvements and processes in order to gain efficiency and quality assurance

The perks:

  • Free beer (yes, the rumours are true)
  • Weekly lunch with Mates
  • Awesome friendly crew
  • Sweet merch

About you:

You’re the type of person who doesn’t mind getting your hands dirty, your shirt sweaty and then topping it all off with some wet boots occasionally. You have an inquisitive mind and like trouble shooting to find out why things aren't working at full capacity.  A natural self-starter, you have bucket loads of energy and a sense of urgency when it comes to getting things done.

A few other things:

Our ideal person will come from a consumer packaging, quality control or a mechanical trade background with:

  • Experience following safe work procedures and standard operating procedures
  • A valid Australian drivers licence
  • Forklift licence (or ability to quickly obtain)
  • Any ERP experience is highly advantageous

I’m a good egg…how do I apply?

Apply now via Seek with your resume and a cover letter telling us why we’re a great fit for each other.
