About Us:
We are a dynamic paediatric therapy centre in Dandenong committed to providing exceptional care and support to children and their families. Our multidisciplinary team is dedicated to fostering development, enhancing learning, and promoting independence in children with diverse needs. Our facility boasts a children-specific clinic with sensory rooms and a kids gym, designed to engage children with a fun therapeutic environment.
The Role:
As a Senior Occupational Therapist you will:
- Manage a team of up to 4 reports
- Assist in mentoring a team of Occupational Therapists and support staff, providing guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
- Develop and implement evidence-based therapy programs, group sessions, and school programs that are tailored to the specific goals and preferences of each child and family.
- Work closely with families and educators to provide education, advice, and strategies to create supportive and inclusive environments for the child at home, school, and in the community.
- Drive continuous improvement and quality assurance within the service, ensuring compliance with ethical and legal standards.
- Provide high-quality, client-centred occupational therapy services to children and families in the South East region, using a range of assessment and intervention methods, such as play, sensory, motor, cognitive, and behavioural approaches.
- Keep detailed and accurate records of all interactions with clients, including emails, phone calls, session notes, reports, and resources, using the secure business system.
- Maintain own professional registration, insurance, and development obligations, and adhere to the code of conduct and ethics of the occupational therapy profession.
- Fulfil the responsibilities agreed with the client in the service agreement, and communicate any changes or issues in a timely and respectful manner.
Requirements
- An occupational therapy bachelor's degree or higher from a recognised university.
- Current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
- At least five years of Paediatric Occupational therapy experience, with proven leadership and clinical abilities.
- A valid driver's license and a dependable vehicle, as some regional travel is necessary.
- A current Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and organisational abilities.
- A dedication to working with children and their families, and providing high-quality, evidence-based, and client-focused services.
