About the Position:
As part of our occupational therapy paediatric team, there is opportunity for a passionate and motivated sub-contractor to join our small team on a part time basis.
The role will involve high quality assessment, delivering evidence-based intervention plans and supporting paediatric clients in partnership with their families, carers and other service providers.
This role will suit a motivated Paediatric Occupational Therapist, who is committed to providing a high standard of service and passion to work autonomously within both the private and NDIS space.
The caseload includes children with Autism, sensory processing differences, ADHD, Dyspraxia/DCD, learning difficulties, motor coordination challenges, and other developmental, learning, and neurological difficulties.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical/Professional Expertise
- Deliver services to young people and children 2-18 years using a strength-based approach. This includes assisting in the maintenance of a caseload of clients in line with CCOT requirements.
- Deliver services to young people who are experiencing learning, language, sensory, intellectual, physical and cognitive difficulties.
- Collaborate with the client’s multidisciplinary team, learning from and also supporting those disciplines, in order to best meet the family’s needs and priorities.
- Undertake assessment, planning, delivery, evaluation and continuous improvement related to the provision of Paediatric Occupational Therapy Services and demonstrate a high level of clinical skill across the age groups eligible for service.
- Find and undertake professional development opportunities to meet the requirements of the AHPRA CPD guidelines.
- Organise and proactively self-manage workload to meet performance targets.
- Follow organisational policies and procedures in order to provide effective and professional care in a way that respects the rights and beliefs of all individuals.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Occupational Therapy
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
- Demonstrated Paediatric OT experience;
- Demonstrated ability to deliver assessments, recommendations & therapy
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of relevant theoretical frameworks for working with children;
- Ability to organise and proactively self-manage workload to meet annual performance targets and service initiatives as directed by CCOT;
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and communication skills both written and verbal, including the ability to liaise with families, carers and other professionals.
- Demonstrated focus on service with a commitment to delivering high quality outcomes for clients;
- Demonstrated ability to work well as a part of a team yet be autonomous in the role;
- Good organisational and time management skills;
