Seeking a Paediatric Occupational Therapy Assistant.

Team Overview
Our teams in Geelong and Melbourne have a structure of a Leadership Team, experienced therapists, Graduate Program and Client Services.
Our Paediatric Team supports children aged 0-13 years old, in a family inclusive and trauma responsive practice. Children may have difficulties in sensory processing, emotional regulation, behaviour challenges, social competencies, motor skills or developmental delay.
Our Paediatric Occupational Therapists work to promote the development of everyday activities in children. Our aim is to help the foundation of skills, positive routines and behaviours for their ongoing engagement in their relationships, schooling and community.
At Allay, we also have an Adolescent and Adult team of Occupational Therapists.
Team Wide Support Structure
As an Occupational Therapist Assistant with Allay you will be a part of our focus on resilience, learning, and diversity and inclusion. You will play a role in crafting our Early Career Pathways program, providing foundational clinical experience preceding our established eight-year running Graduate Program. You will have the opportunity to be supported in developing personal and professional skills through Early Career coordination that supports the consolidation of knowledge, recognition of passions, and effective organisational skills.
Service Delivery

As an Occupational Therapy Assistant at Allay you will work with clients and families in delivering a a skill development program designed by the lead OT. Focus remains on capacity building and supporting the clients to 'Do' rather than 'Do for them'. Occupational Therapy Assistants will have the opportunity to apply for our comprehensive Graduate Program on completion of their studies which focuses on supporting the whole experience of a new therapist.
Key responsibilities:
- Availability to complete regular shifts that promotes consistency in service delivery.
- Monday – Friday shifts available between 7am and 7pm with min 3-hour shifts.
- Deliver all services within a strength based, client driven, family inclusive model.
- Delivery of skill development programs designed by the Lead OT.
- Develop resources under the guidance of Lead OT unique to client needs.
- Implement interventions prescribed by Lead OT to build client and family capacity.
- Assist in the delivery individual and group-based therapies.
- Complete timely and concise documentation.
- Demonstrate ability to work autonomously and effectively.
- Demonstrate effective communication.
Essential characteristics:
- Commitment to the needs of people with disabilities and their rights.
- Highly developed oral, written and collaborative communication skills.
- Currently 3rd or 4th year level in bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or relevant Level 2 Allied Health Assistant qualifications.
- Police Check.
- Working with Children's Check.
- Current Driver's License and use of own vehicle.
- Eligible for NDIS Worker Screening.
Desirable characteristics:
- Experience in roles with transferrable skills, such as placements in paediatrics, Support Worker or Personal Care Provider.
