Outback Therapy is currently looking for a qualified Occupational Therapist to provide services in our Lightning Ridge clinic. This position is full time and has a Paediatric focus.

A branch of Raymond Terrace Therapy, Outback Therapy is a multidisciplinary allied health clinic based in the outback community of Lightning Ridge, NSW. Services are provided within the clinic, home, community and partnered health facilities.
We are passionate about providing therapy to all ages and abilities. Our current services include; Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Psychology, Therapy Assistant and Coordination of Supports.
Our business is a registered NDIS provider for early intervention and therapy supports.
About the role
We are interested in speaking with all levels of experienced professionals:
- New graduates with a special interest in Paediatrics
- Experienced Occupational Therapists with a special interest in Paediatrics
As a new graduate or an experienced Occupational Therapist you will join our private practice and provide clinical services for Outback Therapy.
This role will primarily support the provision of Occupational Therapy services for early intervention, school aged and young adults (0-18 years), however as a community based clinic you may also have adult clients.
Our Occupational Therapy services are delivered within the clinic, sensory space and in the community. We have a fleet of company cars to access the community, whether this is a school, preschool or a client’s home.
You will develop your ability to provide a comprehensive range of assessments and interventions for individuals living with mild to complex needs. Our practice has a large variety of standardised assessments on hand to aid in assessment and outcome.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Provision of Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention for individuals of all ages (primarily 0-18)
- Delivering evidence based and goal directed OT interventions
- Completing standardised assessments
- Assistive technology assessment and prescription
- Working within the disability sector (NDIS)
- Advocacy for participant needs through completing paediatric functional capacity assessments
- Working in collaboration to a multi-disciplinary team
- Working collaboratively with a Therapy Assistant
What are the requirements?
Essential criteria:
- Bachelor or Masters degree in Occupational Therapy
- Experience with Paediatric Occupational therapy services: Early Intervention (0-7), Childhood, Adolescents and young Adults
- Professional Indemnity insurance
- Working with Children check
- NDIS Workers Screening Check
- Police check
- Valid driver’s licence
- First Aid & CPR
Desirable criteria
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team to support the delivery of safe, efficient and high quality care to patients.
- Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge and understanding of NDIS practice standards
- Information Technology competence: e.g. Google Suite and practice management system skills (Our practice software is Cliniko)
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity
