Patches have a well-established, well-supported service in WA and are expanding in Melbourne and Hobart – but we need you! We are seeking dedicated and passionate developmental Senior Paediatricians, Paediatricians and Advanced Trainees in Paediatrics to contribute to multi-disciplinary assessments for ADHD, GDD, ASD and FASD. Patches is an RACP accredited training placement for 6 months of Community Paediatrics, with consultant supervision provided.
The Role
Patches is seeking Paediatricians of Advanced trainees to work on a flexible independent contractor basis in a diagnosis-only service. Trainees and Fellows will receive supervision, a range of peer support and professional development opportunities.
Opportunities for remote travel to our service sites around Australia, will be available.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will conduct developmental and behavioural assessments, to provide diagnosis and management planning for paediatric and adolescent clients. Many of our clients are from culturally and linguistically diverse populations and corrective services settings.
Selection Criteria
• The ability to diagnose, as part of a multidisciplinary team, complex conditions including ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), Global Developmental Delay, and common mental health conditions.
• The ability to provide clinical feedback to families following a diagnosis and provide follow up management of a caseload of clients in liaison with general practitioners and community or general paediatricians.
Eligibility Requirements
• Advanced Trainees in General Paediatrics or Community Child Health, or Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians
• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• A dynamic, patient-oriented approach to medicine, with an openness to innovation and enterprise
• Experience working with culturally diverse and at-risk young people, youth justice clients or developmental and behavioural paediatrics would be beneficial
