About Paediatric Evening Medical Lead(s)
Fixed term, fractional appointments over winter 2024
The MCH has undertaken a project which has resulted in a significant remodelling of staff and communications across teams after hours. The Medical Lead position will mentor and lead junior medical staff, collaborate with the after-hours team across the hospital, and manage clinical resources to meet the demands of increasing patient acuity across General Medicine and Specialty Units and patient flow challenges after hours.
The Lead will be required to supervise junior trainees in managing their workload, including admitting, and discharging patients. They will attend night handover using resources such "Baret" to assess workload and allocate resources as necessary to meet demands. They will undertake general clinical duties as appropriate.
The paediatric night medical Lead will be based at Monash Children's Hospital Clayton.
The position will be filled by several paediatricians each working a minimum of 1 shift per fortnight. Shifts are generally scheduled from 6 or 8pm until midnight over peak demand months. The aim is to cover 7 days per week with relevant penalty rates applying as per the enterprise agreement.
Commencement date:
June 2024 with an anticipated duration until the end of September 2024
What you need:
Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Appropriate health professional tertiary qualifications (MBBS or Equivalent)
FRACP in general paediatrics or recognised by the RACP as a specialist in general paediatrics.
