We are seeking a skilled and experienced Painter to join our team. As a Painter, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paint, and ensuring high-quality finishes on various residential and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to delivering exceptional results.
Responsibilities:
- Read instructions and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary.
- Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, installing protective drop sheets, and covering fixtures.
- Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, filling holes and smoothing surfaces.
- Remove previous paint or wallpaper using appropriate methods.
- Apply paint to walls and structures utilising brushes, rollers, and sprayers.
- Make assessments on paint colour, mix and match pigments using multiple techniques and tools.
- Clean tools using appropriate different cleaning agents, dispose of used materials properly and pack away equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed promptly and as per specifications.
- Understand and comply with industry safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Relevant qualification at Certificate III or Certificate IV level
- At least two years of full-time work experience as a painter
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality workmanship.
- Demonstrated positive attitude and teamwork ability.
- Able to work efficiently with and without supervision.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to painting and construction.
Salary:
The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $70,000 to $80,000 plus superannuation per year.
