About the role

We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled Paper Mill Operator to join our team. As a Paper Mill Operator, you will play a crucial role in the production process, ensuring the efficient operation of our paper manufacturing equipment.  This position involves working on a rotating shift roster to support continuous operations.

Duties

Reporting to the Shift Foreman, key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Operate and monitor paper manufacturing machinery, including but not limited to pulping, refining, forming, pressing, drying, and finishing equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure equipment operates smoothly and safely.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
  • Monitor process parameters and adjust settings as necessary to meet quality standards and production targets.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Maintain accurate production records and report any abnormalities or incidents to the appropriate personnel.

What you will bring to the team

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in paper manufacturing or related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a paper mill or similar manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand and operate complex machinery.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to work a rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must have full working rights for Australia.
