At Bamara, we are seeking a dedicated and empathetic ParentsNext Support Mentor to join our team in Cairns. As a vital member of the ParentsNext department within our Employment Services division, this is a permanent full-time position that offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of parents and their families. As a ParentsNext Support Mentor, you will be responsible for providing guidance, support, and encouragement to parents who are preparing to re-enter the workforce. Your main tasks will include:
- Building strong rapport with clients and gaining an understanding of their individual circumstances and needs
- Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify skills, barriers, and goals
- Developing tailored plans in collaboration with clients to outline steps towards achieving employment and education goals
- Providing ongoing support and mentoring to assist clients in overcoming challenges and accessing relevant services
- Delivering group workshops on topics such as job readiness, communication skills, and personal development
- Collaborating with external stakeholders including employers, training providers, and community organisations to create opportunities for clients
- Maintaining accurate records of client interactions and progress towards goals
- Adhering to program guidelines and reporting requirements
