Parks & Gardens roles

Wakefield Regional Council values its people and prides itself on being an employer of choice. We are currently recruiting for the following positions within our Parks & Gardens team:

Team Leader Parks & Gardens (Permanent Full-Time);
2 x Parks & Gardens (Permanent Full-Time).

The successful applicants will provide quality works through undertaking a range of horticultural tasks which deliver high quality infrastructure services, public facilities and amenities, and contribute to the implementation of our works program.
To be successful in Parks & Gardens you will have:

A strong work ethic focused on delivering excellent community service by maintaining Council’s townships and park scapes;
Practical experience in machinery operation;
Knowledge of horticultural and garden maintenance;
MR licence (highly desirable)

Additionally, to be successful in Team Leader Parks & Gardens you will have:
Leadership experience with the ability to develop a positive team culture;
Proven ability to use initiative and problem solve to make efficient decisions;
Practical experience and skills to lead staff and manage plant and equipment to ensure the effective delivery of construction and maintenance services;
Qualifications in Horticulture or Local Government experience would be an advantage.
