The role
We are looking for a wonderfully organised person who will assist the Financial Controller in leading the Accounting and Finance Department and effectively deliver on AR and other necessary functions.
This is a PT role running to 15 hours a week which will be 2 working days preferably Wednesdays and Thursdays.
This role would involve 50:50 work-from-home and working from our Villawood office (hybrid).
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Finance Operations:
- Manage the local accounts receivable function including; entering customer payments, refunds, purchase orders, customer reporting and payment planning
- Manage the credit control and collections in line with internal policies and procedures
- To ensure that sales invoices and statements are provided to customers as and when required.
- Monitor the daily bookkeeping activities to ensure up to date record keeping and data entry into accounting system
- Providing general administrative and accounting support
- Other ad-hoc accounting duties as requested
Financial Reporting and Close Process:
- Review the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts receivable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections.
- Perform reconciliations of debtor accounts
- Collecting and analysing data, which is then used in the preparation of weekly and monthly estimates.
- Responding to financial inquiries by gathering and interpreting data
Qualifications/Experience
- Tertiary Financial qualifications (Minimum TAFE Diploma in Accounting)
- Minimum 2 years experience in a full function accounts role
- Advanced Outlook, Excel & Word
- Experience with ERP software
- Experience in manufacturing or technology industries preferred but not essential
- Strong numerical ability
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with the ability to communicate at all levels and build relationships
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Proactive and can work with minimum supervision.
