About the Centre/Service Tecoma Preschool is looking for an experienced Early Childhood Educator for our 4- year old funded kinder program. Tecoma Preschool is a Community Kindergarten running sessional kinder programs for 3 year old and 4 year old children. We deliver a 15- hour play-based 4 year old program and a 15 hour rotational 3 year old program. The Committee of management is a supportive parent volunteer committee working alongside the educational staff and paid coordination support. Set in the Dandenong Ranges, Tecoma Preschool takes pride in providing a warm and welcoming environment encouraging a feeling of security and confidence to explore and grow. Up until the late 1980’s, our Preschool building was a residence. It has now been transformed into a wonderful preschool comprised of cosy nooks and crannies with landscaped playground for children to explore and find their own space. With children’s interests at the forefront of all programming, educators attempt to provide a supportive mix of guided play, adult led learning and children directed play and learning. Our beautiful elm tree in the back garden typifies the occurrences seen at our kindergarten – continual change, growth, excitement and development. Tecoma Preschool acknowledges the Wurrundjeri as the traditional owners of the land on which we work, learn and play. Tecoma Preschool was assessed at an Exceeding Standard in 2022. We are a child-safe organisation and are committed to ensuring the safety of all children. The safety and wellbeing of all our children are at the heart of everything we do.
