PERSOLKELLY has an opportunity for a Pasture Agronomistto join our client site in Emerald supporting the Queensland Pasture Resilience Program (QPRP). This role is Monday-Friday paying up to $64 per hour.

About the role:
- Conduct and assist in field-based research and development activities on restoring land condition, sown pasture systems research, animal performance and pasture dieback management.
- Support and respond to producer enquiries
- Contribute to communicating and reporting project activities and outcomes of field-based on-farm research and demonstration trials for use in extension and project reports for industry, departmental and funding body publications.
- Conduct field-based research and development activities on restoring land condition, sown pasture systems research, animal performance and pasture dieback management.
- Conduct extension activities and respond to producer enquiries primarily to support the adoption of improved grazing land management of rangelands, pasture dieback and sown pastures plus other aspects of feed-base management.
- Communicate and report on project activities and outcomes of field-based on-farm research and demonstration trials for use in extension and project reports for industry, departmental and funding body publications and peer reviewed journal articles.
About the individual:
- Australian bachelors' degree (AQF level 7 or equivalent) or higher in Agricultural / Applied or Environmental Science from a recognised tertiary institution
- You will have experience and knowledge of rangeland and pasture research methodologies and an understanding of, or willingness to gain competency in, rangeland management, and sown pasture systems relevant to Queensland beef businesses.
- Commitment to obtaining vaccination or provision of evidence of prior immunity to Q-Fever is required.
- A current 'C' class drivers' licence
- The ability to conduct field work at various times of the year in Queenslands' grazing lands which may include regular overnight travel.
