PO3 Pasture Agronomist

Maxima's Recruitment Services are seeking an P03 Pasture Agronomist for a position with the State Government client.
This is a temporary assignment working part - time hours, commencing April 2024 through to the mid of Marcg 2025.

About the Role
As an Agronomist, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting Extensive Livestock Systems, particularly in Animal Science Branch. Your responsibilities will include conducting field-based research, delivering extension activities, and collaborating with stakeholders to drive the adoption of improved pasture management practices.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Work on the Pasture Resilience Program (PRP) alongside department’s Pasture Agronomists and beef extension officers.
• Conduct field-based research on sown pastures, animal performance, and pasture dieback management.
• Contribute to analysis, reporting, and publishing of research outcomes.
• Deliver extension activities to promote the adoption of pasture legumes and improve management practices.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders from various sectors.

About You

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Agricultural Science or related field.
• Commitment to obtaining Q fever vaccination or providing evidence of prior immunity.
• Willingness to engage in physically demanding fieldwork throughout the year.
• Availability for frequent travel across southern Queensland, including overnight stays.
• Valid "C" class driver's license.
