Patent Assistant - Brisbane

The Role

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated administrative Patent Assistant to join our Brisbane Chemistry/Life Sciences team on full-time basis. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the team working closely with our Principals and Patent Attorneys.  Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing and e-filing documentation at IP Australia, IPONZ and WIPO
• Drafting basic correspondence
• Preparing, finalizing and sending electronic correspondence
• Management of individual attorney practices and deadlines
• File and matter management
• Preparing and sending invoices

The ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and a fast and enthusiastic learner. Previous experience as an IP administrative assistant, while highly regarded, is not essential. 

Key skill requirements for this role include:

• Excellent attention to detail.  
• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks, and work to deadlines
• Experience using Microsoft packages, particularly Word and Outlook
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
