Job description
Ensure the development of relevant knowledge and expertise by participating in Performance and Development Plans, active learning and professional development.
Contribute to the PAH Haematology laboratory team by working co-operatively and communicating effectively with the team and with clients, both internal and external to the laboratory to ensure the provision of optimum patient care and service delivery.
Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
* Demonstrated experience in or the ability to rapidly learn pre-analytical and post-analytical clinical laboratory tasks.
* Demonstrated initiative, highly developed communication skills, and a commitment to personal and organisational excellence
* Demonstrated high level skills, or the ability to rapidly acquire high level skills, in the use of the laboratory information system (AUSLAB) and the quality management system QIS2.
* Demonstrated ability to contribute to a positive team environment.
* Demonstrated ability to contribute to quality and service improvement activities in accordance with National Association of Testing Authority/International Standardisation Organisation (NATA/ISO) accreditation / certification.
Qualifications, registrations and other requirements
* While not mandatory, a Certificate in Pathology (Laboratory Assistance) or equivalent would be well regarded.
* The role is required to work weekends
