Reporting to the Laboratory Team Leader, this position exists to coordinate and provide high quality endocrinology and andrology services within our Gold Coast laboratory.
In addition this position will provide technical and administrative support to the Laboratory team as well as be required to work the weekend roster.
The successful candidate will join a high performing, collaborative and cohesive team who continuously provide exceptional service to our patients & stakeholders.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing patients with exceptional care and support
- Process and analyse blood samples utilising an automated blood analyser
- Performing semen analysis including sperm concentration, motility, morphology, sperm antibody testing, DNA fragmentation
- Use of automated analysers such as the SQA vision
- Perform sperm preparation for insemination and Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) treatment
- Record and report results accurately and efficiently
- Ensure quality control is maintained
- Trouble-shooting machine operational issues
- Order and maintain stock, equipment, and consumables
- Compliance with accreditation, protocols, and laboratory procedures
- Regular communication with stakeholders
The ideal candidate will see their role as vital to the success of the organisation. Understanding there are ups and down in reproductive health, the Pathology Laboratory Technician will be sensitive to the needs of patients and will endeavor to maintain a critical eye to detail. Ideally you will have the following:
- A degree in Biological/Health Science
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Pathology Laboratory essential
- Knowledge of pathology practices and accreditation including NATA
- Advanced interpersonal and communication skills
- Exceptional organisational skills
- A focus on timely outcomes with the ability to prioritise
- A willingness to work collaboratively within a small multidisciplinary team
- Attention to detail focus
- A positive attitude and ability to take initiative
- Advanced computer literacy skills
- A willingness to fit in and embrace the Monash IVF Group Mission and Principles
