This is a recruitment pool for Casual appointments.

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and passionate Patient Care Assistant to join the team at Carnarvon Health Campus or Gnullingoo Mia Aged Care. Located in Carnarvon, 1000kms north of Perth, Western Australia.

Carnarvon is a palm-fringed coastal oasis offering a platter of fresh tropical flavours and a good base for exploring World Heritage listed Ningaloo Reef and the largest monocline on Earth - Mount Augustus. From Carnarvon, you have access to some of the State's best year-round fishing, surfing, windsurfing, kite surfing, snorkelling and swimming spots all dotted along a beautifully rugged stretch of coastline. Stand atop the cliffs at Cape Cuvier to drink in the ocean views - from June to November you might even spot humpback whales on their annual migration.

Position Profile:

Provides personal care to clients of the health service under the direction of a registered nurse. Assists with a range of support services and is responsible for the provision of cleaning duties, laundry duties, meal preparation and/or meal distribution in accordance with Hospital policies and procedures and as determined the service needs of the hospital.

To be successful, you will have...

  • Interest in assisting patients and being considerate to their rights, dignity and needs in all areas of practice.
  • Basic understanding of hygiene, food handling standards and cleaning requirements within a hospital environment.
  • Basic understanding of, or experience in, patient handling techniques.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and with minimal supervision.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Eligible for / or in possession of a current C or C-A Class drivers' licence or other specialised licence class.
