About the Role

As the Patient Liaison Officer, you will be responsible for liaising with patients regarding their admission to hospital. This involves ensuring patients have adequate health fund eligibility; financially informing patients, ensuring all associated documentation is completed and taking payments incurred for admission.

This role will require the successful candidate to be available across a 24/7 rotating roster, including weekends.

Your Key Skills and Experience

To succeed in this role, you have a strong commitment to customer service, display professional communication and interpersonal skills. Your ability to prioritise deadlines and your strong attention to detail will see you thrive in this fast paced role.  

• Previous experience working with Health Funds
• A Certificate in Medical Terminology or recent experience in a health services environment would be advantageous
• Experience working within an Emergency Department would be an advantage
• Previous experience with Patient Management Systems such as Meditech and Medtech32 would be advantageous
• Previous experience in a Customer Service position
• Knowledge of DRG’s CMBS item numbers and prosthetic rebate codes
• Fast and accurate data entry skills along with a strong attention to detail

Remuneration

A base hourly rate ranging from $33.59 - $35.37 + superannuation, based on experience level and qualifications exclusive of penalties and allowances.
