The Position
We are seeking an experienced applicants for the Patient Safety and Quality Officer position within our Quality Services team.
Day to day duties of the role are (but not limited to):
- Responsible for managing any patient, consumer and family complaints received
- Maintaining electronic reporting system (Riskman)
- Undertaking reviews of clinical incidents relating to SAC1 and SAC2 events
- Support the consumer advisory group
- Organise and undertake audits in accordance with the audit schedule
- Maintain the coronial services
- Prepare Quality reports for the Board, Medical Advisory Committee and Medical Governance meetings
- Provide support to NUMs and line managers to review SAC 3 and 4 incidents and manage them within Riskman
- Support the level 3 RN’s and senior managers to prepare for drop in ACHS accreditation audits
- Prepare responses for Office of Health Ombudsman requests
- Prepare insurance notifications for SAC 1 and SAC2 and high risk events
- Prepare reports for Qld Health for SAC 1 and SAC2 events
- Respond to external reviews and support recommendation implementation

- Previous experience in working in a Quality and Safety team
- Experience in auditing and accreditation processes
- Proven ability to work unsupervised and within a team environment
- Achieve work set to a high standard, demonstrated attention to detail and within allocated timeframes
- High level of computer literacy in Microsoft programs with advanced Excel skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build trust, promote confidence and satisfaction with staff, patients, their families’ and support persons
