About the Role
The Patient Services Assistant is an integral and valued member of the Downer team. This role delivers services across cleaning, Infection control and patient deliveries to maintain all areas are clean, safe and the environment is comfortable for patients, visitors, and staff.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Transporting patients and bloods
Infection control procedures
Waste Removal and industrial cleaning
Hospital specific cleaning tasks and service
This role requires you to have the flexibility to work a rotating roster, that runs over 24 hours 7 days a week, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You also must have or are willing to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Check (NPC)
You will also need:
A high level of customer service and communication skills
Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
Self-motivated and able to work effectively according to directions
Knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals and procedures
Understanding of industry workplace health and safety practices
Understanding of infection control principles and procedures

Please note: As a pre-requisite for this role, successful candidates will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical, as well as provide an up-to-date National Police Clearance and Immunisation history.
