This is a casual opportunity for a Patient Transport Officer role operating from Wendouree Branch.
About the role
A Patient Transport Officer (PTO) provides care and transport to Non-Emergency patients. The primary objective of this role is to provide an effective and efficient service in the transport of Non-Emergency pre and post hospital patients between home and medical facilities, to assist in achieving service goals and targets relating to Non-Emergency transport.
Depending upon location, the rosters fall between the hours of 0800-2000, Monday to Friday and are eight to ten hours in duration. The successful applicants will be required to drive and operate all current AV operational vehicle types.
About you
To apply to be a PTO, applicants must hold a Certificate III in Non-Emergency Patient Transport or equivalent. Alternatives include any one of the following Ambulance qualifications:
- Qualified Ambulance Paramedic
- Diploma of Emergency Health Care
- Bachelor of Health Science
- Paramedicine Degree
Due to fatigue management, applicants are required to live within 45 - 60 minutes' drive from the work location.
A current Victorian driver licence is essential and it is desirable that a PTO has completed 100 hours of on-road clinical experience as per the updated NEPT Regulations.
All successful applicants must be available to attend a four -week induction program in Melbourne. The induction will occur during office hours, Monday to Friday, for the duration of the program.

The salary for this role is in alignment with the Ambulance Victoria Operational Employee classifications (2020 Enterprise Agreement) plus super.
