About our Company
AirMed is an aeromedical and ground Patient Transport company, providing nurse-escorted, non-emergency Patient Transport to stable patients by fixed-wing aircraft and road throughout NSW and Australia.
About your Role
The Patient Transport Officer / Driver works with direction from the Company to ensure that patients are transported in a safe and timely manner from and to required locations.
The essence of this role:
- Safe and timely transport of patients as directed by the Company and contribute to the delivery of quality care and excellence in customer service.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Health and/or Aged Care Sectors.
- Experience in transporting frail, aged and/or vulnerable people is desirable, but not essential.
- Working with Children Check, NSW Police Check and RMS Certified Driving Record all need to be satisfactorily completed, with assistance from the Company as needed, prior to appointment by successful applicants.
- A company-supplied uniform is to be worn whilst on duty.
- Washing, cleaning and liaising with general maintenance of Patient Transport Vehicle.
About You
- Certificate III or Certificate IV in Non Emergency Patient Transport required for Patient Transport Officer position (PTO)
- A current unrestricted NSW Driver’s Licence (Class C) and safe driving record
- You must present professionally and take pride in your personal appearance and conduct.
- Will require to hold a current First Aid qualification, as a minimum in accordance with HLTAID0003 (Provide First Aid) which can be obtained by an approved local first aid trainer.
- Ability to work independently and as an important part of a dynamic team.
- Patience, interpersonal skills and empathy with the needs of unwell patients.
- Customer service focus.
- Ability to access and communicate effectively via email and/or smartphone and/or online.
