Position DescriptionOur client is seeking a Part-time HR and Payroll Officer (3-days spread-out over 4-5 days) to join their team. As the HR and Payroll Officer, you will play a pivotal role in the organization, ensuring the seamless operation of their HR and payroll functions. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for a comprehensive range of HR and payroll services and will be a pivotal member of the finance team.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
HR Responsibilities:
- Manage return to work processes.
- Oversee Employee Bargaining Agreement (EBA) compliance and record-keeping.
- Facilitate employee onboarding procedures, including medical checks and system setup.
Payroll Responsibilities:
- Process weekly pay runs and expense claims for up to 100 wage and salary staff.
- Collect, compute, and document all payroll data accurately.
- Ensure timely processing of timesheets and approvals.
- Handle quarterly and monthly statutory requirements such as Leave Plus, superannuation, and payroll tax.
- Collaborate with the Financial Controller on staff novated leases and Workcover matters.
- Address payroll queries promptly and effectively.
- Implement and maintain internal payroll procedures and systems.
The successful applicant will have experience in a similar Payroll Officer position along with the following skills and attributes:
- Thorough understanding of company and legal regulations pertaining to HR and payroll.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and payroll software (Experience with Jobpac preferred).
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on process improvement.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to investigate issues and propose solutions.
- Capacity to process data accurately and efficiently.
- Flexibility to work from home after training
- Work close to home public transport
- Attractive remuneration package ($80,000 - $85,000 + superannuation depending on experience on a full-time equivalent)
