An exciting support role, in a dynamic service, for people with a current or previous lived experience of using mental health and/or drug and alcohol services.

Remuneration: (per hour)
Health Education Officer Non Graduate : $30.45 - $44.03
Health Education Officer Graduate : $34.82 - $55.64

What you'll be doing
The is a non-clinical role with focus on the Peer Supported Transition of Care (STOC) program which supports people following an admission to the Mental Health Inpatient Unit.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Past or current personal experience using Mental Health and/or Drug & Alcohol related services.
  • Able and willing to share aspects of your personal treatment and recovery experience with others, individually and/or in groups, in a safe and effective way.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and foster effective working relationships with a diverse range of people, including the people using Mental Health / Drug & Alcohol services, clinicians, managers and community members.
  • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to develop and/or deliver education and training.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate group activities across hospital and community settings (eg: for the purpose of social inclusion, rehabilitation, education and /or recovery).
  • Computer and internet literacy.
