AddressStation Overseer
Hale River Cattle has a position available for an experienced person on one of our properties south of Alice Springs.
The successful candidate reports directly to the station manager and should be experienced in pastoral operations.
You will have capability to plan and implement property programs, capital works, repairs and maintenance.
The successful applicant will be honest, reliable and have a strong work ethic, enjoy the challenges of problem solving and effectively lead a team as required.
Skills and Abilities
- Planning and execution of cattle husbandry tasks including monitoring and maintaining the health and condition of livestock.
- Organising the sale, purchase and transportation of livestock.
- Maintenance and servicing of station plant and equipment.
- Safe operation of plant and equipment.
- Sound knowledge of water pumps, bores, and water supply systems.
- Maintenance of fences, yards, and infrastructure.
- Managing business capital including budgeting.
- Maintaining and evaluating records of station activities, monitoring market activity and planning production accordingly.
- Valid driver’s licence is essential (HR Licence is an advantage but not essential)
- Willingness to comply with Health & Safety guidelines.
- Ability to follow company values, policies, and procedures.
- Effective training and supervision of staff and contractors.
