This is for a Permanent Full Time or Fixed Term Full Time appointment with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.
Position Profile: The Peer Worker, as a non-clinical specialist member of the mental health/alcohol and other drug (AOD) multidisciplinary team, provides high quality, recovery orientated services with consumers and/or their support persons to assist in their recovery. Drawing on their personal Lived Experience of mental illness, the Peer Worker engages purposefully with consumers and their support persons, providing hope, support and system navigation expertise throughout the patient journey. The Peer Worker also advises the health service on Lived Experience perspectives and contributes to the continued learning of staff on partnering with consumers and trauma informed care.
Eligibility to Apply: Australian citizenship or permanent residency is an essential requirement for applicants to be considered for permanent positions in the public sector.
