Appointments may be made from this pool until 30/04/2026.Position Profile: We are currently seeking to appoint a Peer Worker - Lived Experience.The Peer Worker, as a non-clinical specialist member of the mental health/alcohol and other drug (AOD) multidisciplinary team, provides high quality, recovery orientated services with consumers and/or their support persons to assist in their recovery. Drawing on their personal Lived Experience of mental illness, the Peer Worker engages purposefully with consumers and their support persons, providing hope, support and system navigation expertise throughout the patient journey. The Peer Worker also advises the health service on Lived Experience perspectives and contributes to the continued learning of staff on partnering with consumers and trauma informed care.Area Profile: The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is the largest country health system in Australia and one of the biggest in the world, providing health services to approximately half a million people, including 45,000 Aboriginal people, over a vast two and a half million square kilometre area.
