The Role & the Team

The People and Talent Partner, will dually focus on end to end partnering for the GTM, Customer and Finance teams at Shippit, as well act as the custodian of several HR programs. On one hand, this role focuses on identifying, attracting, and communicating with top talent. On the other hand, providing People Partnership both within the team and across the organisation, collaborating proactively to enhance the employee experience, boost engagement, and ensure the company is a high-performance workplace where every Shippster thrives.

Day to Day

* Develop and Lead Contemporary Practices: Immerse yourself in the latest trends from organisational strategies, from Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives, to the Employee Value Proposition. Be an in-house advisory guru

* Partner on People Strategy: Work closely with the Head of P&C and business leaders to sculpt and drive the overarching People Strategy, fortifying organisational design, change management, talent management and employee engagement.

* Drive Team Engagement: Drive engagement action plans and day to day employee experience for your client group, working in partnership with leaders on team needs. 

* Foster Growth & Learning: Ignite a culture of continuous learning and development within Shippit. Design tailored learning pathways, facilitate career advancement opportunities, and provide coaching.

* Guide with Empathy and Expertise: Handle employee relations with care. Assist in performance oversight, policy reviews, and provide clarity on contracts and documentation.

* Support the Remuneration Process: As a key representative of the P&C team, front our remuneration strategy internally. Utilise market-driven data to derive insights, ensuring that Shippit's team feels valued and remains committed, reflected through their compensation packages.

* Teaming for Impact: Collaborate seamlessly with the People & Culture allies to roll out recurring initiatives – be it performance appraisals, remuneration revisions, engagement pulse checks, or reporting.

* Lead Recruitment: Own the recruitment process for the teams you support, from understanding the nuances of job specifications to mastering the art of closing deals with top talent. 

* Curate Talent Pipelines: Craft and execute robust sourcing strategies to ensure we're always engaged with the best and brightest in the industry.

Our ideal Shippster

Industry & Educational Experience:

* Minimum of 5 years in progressive people (HR) roles, with at least 3 years as a people partner or similar.

* Preferably from a Tech Startup (SaaS), Logistics is nice to have but not critical.

* Background in recruitment (in-house preferred) across a range of functions.

* An undergraduate degree in Psychology, Business, Human Resources, or a related field.  

Skills & Expertise:

* HR & People Partner Experience: Demonstrable proficiency in organisational design, change management, performance, L&D initiatives, total rewards, and Australian employment law.

* Compensation Expertise: Experience in remuneration strategy and application. Familiarity with Radford data is a plus.

* HR Tech-Savvy: Hands-on familiarity with ATS, HRIS & HR platforms, ideally CultureAmp and BambooHR.

* Adaptability: Ability to flexibly navigate and prioritise responsibilities in a high-paced, evolving work setting.

* Relationship Builder: Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a talent for fostering meaningful relationships across the organisation, and effectively liaising with senior stakeholders.

* Analytical Prowess Robust analytical skills with proficiency in tools like Google Sheets or Excel. Must possess the capability to work independently and extract actionable insights from data.
