What you'll be doingThe Manager of the PAR Unit is responsible for the leadership, management, governance, and ongoing development of Network data flow procedures/process covering the Clinical Patient Journey & corporate Support functions, as well as the integration of these data types in the delivery of Network performance activities.The role will ensure Data Integrity, Activity Based Management Coding/Costing Strategy, compliance to policy and oversee documentations and analysis for submissions and provide high level analysis and commentary on performance issues. The position must ensure SCHN is well positioned to ensure patient equity and safety, consistency of information and to maximize opportunities of Revenue & Activity Based Management (ABM) through all streams.This role will work collaboratively with clinical directors, data stakeholders across SCHN and the broader NSW Health landscape to generate valuable insights and improve the quality of data analysis.The position will be the recognised content expert for data and associated data governance.Represent SCHN’s data needs at relevant forum eg EPIC development, DNR, EDWThe role has a Network remit and as such may be located at any facility across the Network.
  • Demonstrated experienced expert in data collection, statutory reporting and clinical information management in accordance with NSW Health and Commonwealth policies and procedures.
  • Experience in leading and managing team(/s) of data professionals, and expertise in embedding standardised, consistent and robust processes for data analysis. Ability to upskill and empower technical staff to increase capability and adopt modern techniques and processes.
  • Advanced analytical skills, including proven ability to quickly analyse and understand complex information, business processes and concepts to drive informed decision-making. Demonstrated experience in deriving valuable insights from data in a clinical, healthcare setting, including using data to understand and improve patient experience, or to understand the impact on patient outcomes arising from changes to policy and procedure.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a high volume and demanding professional environment with high level organisational skills and ability to prioritise competing demands and achieve results with a customer focused approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including high level written communication skills as an effective consultant and negotiator with all levels of the organisation and with a wide range of stakeholders, from senior health professionals to senior executives of Government agencies. Proven skills in effectively communicating and collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across a variety of specialisations and domains.
  • Extensive experience in a large complex health care organization in service/hospital management or health information management, • Clinical Costing Systems, • Power BI, • EDWARD/Health Information Exchange • knowledge of Health Information and Patient Administration functions, with a sound understanding of the organisational culture of health care services and facilities.
  • Established high-level leadership, strategic development skills and operational skills to foster a culture of collegiate, results driven, diverse stakeholder groups who produce deliverables within specified timeframes.
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of current MoH and Commonwealth policies in relation to health records, data analytics, mandatory data collections as well as relevant experience and understanding of the major data and/or clinical health systems that support the patient care process.
