About Canberra Private Hospital:
Canberra Private Hospital in Deakin ACT is part of the Nexus Hospitals group. Nexus employs over 1600 talented and passionate people across 27 hospitals, as well as 3 support offices.
Canberra Private Hospital is a purpose-built day surgery/short stay hospital with excellent facilities, specialising in Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, Plastic and cosmetic surgeries, Oral & maxillofacial, Urology, Gynaecology, ENT and IVF
Our hospital includes 4 fully integrated Operating Theatres, PACU and 37 overnight beds across two wards which include 4 close observation beds.
On-site we have Inpatient and day rehabilitation services which includes:
- an onsite gymnasium
- Diagnostic services, including pathology and radiology
These services are supported by an in-house comprehensive allied health service team.

About the role:
This role will see you working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary healthcare team to support patient care needs. Imperative to your success in this role will be delivering exceptional clinical outcomes.
- Lead the Peri-Operative team to ensure effective operation of the hospital
- Deliver hospital outcomes in clinical aspects, quality improvement, administration and leadership
- Effectively manage labour and consumable costs
- Ensure compliance to the Infection Prevention & Control Program and NSQHS Standards
- Support the GM/ DON and ADON with human, physical and financial resources and quality activities
- Ensure educational opportunities for staff and completion of same
About You:
You have a genuine passion for nursing, providing world-class patient care and adding value to Australian healthcare. You will be an energetic leader with proven experience in operational and people management.
You will have:
- Solid experience in a comparable role within Theatre / Perioperative setting
- Experience with Quality Improvement activities, Infection Control Management and Accreditation processes
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- A true commitment to delivering high quality patient care
- Tertiary qualifications in Nursing or similar
- Registration with AHPRA
