Overall Role Purpose
The Perishables Operations Specialist is responsible for:
- Processing, handling, and distributing all required documents in the operations department.
- Performs pickup arrangement.
- Ensures customer requirements are met and documents are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Creates/confirms transport order to ensure pickup of the shipment at origin.
- Performs booking and booking optimisation.
- Prepares, controls, and distributes all required Export documents to counterparts (carrier, consignee, supplier, etc.)
- Checks responses from counterparts and finalizes validation of required documents.
- Follows up shipment status in the Export area, identifies incidents, and ensures resolution of incidents.
Skills / Qualifications
- Tertiary qualified or an equivalent qualification (Preferred by not mandatory)
- Minimum two (2) – four (4) years of previous experience/knowledge of Airfreight /Freight Forwarding exposure.
- CargoWise system experience /exposure (advantage).
- Sound administrative skills.
- Results-driven and attention to detail.
- A high degree of reliability and attention to detail
- Be a team player with a positive can-do attitude.
- Be results-driven and be able to demonstrate strong communication and administration skills.
- Possess a high degree of attention to detail and a professional work ethic.
