About the PositionWe are currently seeking applications for an Electrician (Shift Position & Day Work Position) located at
Invicta Mill in the township of Giru, just outside of Townsville. This is a permanent position, and the successful applicants will be responsible for maintaining and ensuring the smooth operation of electrical systems.This permanent position operates on a 4/5 Lifestyle Roster in the Sugar Production Season and moves to day work with RDO's in the Maintenance Season. We pay penalty rates and allowances for hours worked above your rostered hours. Job level will depend on current qualifications and skills mix.Main duties include but are not limited to:
- Installation, calibration and maintenance of electrical equipment
- Examine, diagnose and modify systems comprising inter-connected circuits.
- Maintain department plans, data bases and other documentation
- Commissioning and tuning of electrical systems
- Fault finding of complex electrical control systems involving some combination of pneumatic, electronic, microprocessor based and/or mechanical subsystems.
- Lead and participate in special projects as required

The salary offered will be commensurate with individual skills and experience. The indicative salary range is between $70,000 (TL10) and $77,000 (TL08) annually.
Essential Criteria:- A current Queensland Electrical Work Licence to perform work of Electrical Mechanic and Electrical Fitter / Instrumentation
- Post trade experience in heavy industry electrical or instrumentation installation, commissioning and maintenance
- A strong commitment to safety with involvement in safety/improvement teams
- Current CPR & Low Voltage Rescue
Other Desirable Skills - but if you don't have them, we will train you over time!
- A Cert 3 or 4 in Instrumentation
- Fixed plant maintenance and automated machinery
- LV Motor control and VVVF drives, HV switchgear/switching
- Schneider PLC's control system with Citect HMI
- Interpretation of various electrical, pneumatic and P&ID drawings
- Development with computer literacy - Microsoft, SAP work management system
