We are currently seeking applications for a Fugal Operator based at Proserpine Mill located in the heart of the Whitsundays. This is a Permanent Position in our sugar processing factory which requires shift work during the crushing season on a rotating roster including weekends, overtime, and day work during the maintenance period.
The Fugal Operator is responsible for producing sugar to the required standards, this includes separating sugar from molasses with minimal losses of sugar and maintaining sugar quality standards. Monitor syrup/magma/massecuite/molasses stocks and communicate with interacting stations and your supervisor. Dryer operation, remelt systems and final molasses cooling stations also form part of the Fugal Operator functions to ensure final product and by-products meet market defined quality parameters.
The Opportunity
The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate an ability and willingness to:
- Work effectively within a team environment
- Work safely and look after the safety of others
- Communicate effectively
- Be able to provide regular and accurate feedback to the Operations Coordinator on station performance and quality issues
The successful applicant will also be required to undertake further training to complete the appropriate fugal station and maintenance competencies.
