Twilight Aged Care is a stand-alone not-for-profit service with a rich history spanning over 100 years.
Employing over 300 dedicated staff, they provide high quality residential aged care for more than 200 men and women in 5 homes across Northern Sydney – Gordon, Dural, Mosman, Hunters Hill and Gladesville.
The Role
Promoting and maintaining optimum levels of resident health and well-being through the provision of care services and support that enables the achievement of health, social and spiritual life goals for all residents. Your duties include but are not limited to:
- Maintaining resident independence and dignity by providing Personal Care to residents with diminished functioning capacity in respect of all care needs, including: assistance with activities of daily living including personal hygiene, toileting, dressing, eating and drinking; assistance with mobilisation; bed making; assistance with social activities;
- Following completion of a competency assessment and under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, assists residents with taking medications
- Attends to meal preparation, delivery and refreshments as required
- Completes assessments, observations and incident reports in the Company information system and reports information and observed exceptions to the registered nurse of facility manager – care services
- Completes progress notes and records exceptions to the care plan in the Company information system
- Participate in the care planning and review process as required
- Attends to wound dressings as required in the care plan
- Presents a caring and professional image to residents, relatives and visitors in all interactions and promote the mission, vision and values of the Company through attention to personal behavior
Shifts available
- Working across all 5 of our homes in Northern Sydney
- Opportunity for part-time and full-time work
- Working hours include a range of available 24 hours shifts, 7 days a week. Candidates can select from the following shifts Monday to Sunday:
- Day Shift 06:45 - 14:45
- Afternoon Shift 14:30 - 22:30
- Night Shift 22:30 - 07:00 -
About you
Demonstrating experience in a similar role, you will have proven yourself as a Personal Care Worker who treats residents in a respectful and courteous manner. Further, you will have:
- Certificate III or IV in Aged Care (or equivalent)
- An up to date Police Check
- Have received COVID-19 Booster Vaccination
- First aid / CPR certificates
- Previous experience working in community or aged care would be highly regarded
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills
