About the role
Mercy Community Aged Care services are on the lookout for Personal Care Assistants for our Nudgee facility. Permanent part time roles will be available to the successful candidate that is able to work across all shifts including night shifts.
As a motivated and passionate Personal Care Assistant, you will be assisting residents in their daily activities, delivering the best possible care, ensuring wellbeing, comfort and the best possible care. Our 203-bed residential facility offers a range of services and believes a big part of what we do is to help our clients flourish, knowing what is important to them and their individual needs. $ 30.11 per hour plus penalties plus superannuation plus generous salary packaging available
The role includes but not limited to -
- Assisting residents in their daily activities, delivering the best possible care, ensuring wellbeing and comfort
- Maintaining a friendly homelike environment where residents are encouraged to engage in activities of their choice
- Ensuring the safe and appropriate use of equipment, with an emphasis on resident comfort and safety
- Aspects of personal hygiene – showering, continence, bedding, and clothing
- Observing, reporting, and responding to all changes in resident health and wellbeing including maintaining accurate, factual, and thorough progress notes
- Ensuring resident requests are attended to within the scope of their care plan and ensuring all complaints are resolved reported to the Care and Service Manager
About you
- Completed a Certificate III in Individualised Support – Aged Care (mandatory)
- High level of interpersonal, customer service and conflict resolution skills as well as flexibility
- Ability to follow written instructions, comprehend care plans, and record accurate progress notes
- Able to work a variety of shifts across a 7-day roster. Availability to work Monday to Friday across all shifts, is required.
