We are currently recruiting permanent full-time and part-time Homemakers (Personal Care Assistants).
CaSPA Care is a residential aged care organisation providing quality care to the elderly. We currently operate two aged care homes, one located in South Melbourne and one located in Albert Park.
CaSPA care has moved away from the highly institutional medical based model of care to an exciting 'Household Model' that has our residents in a more home like environment.
We don't expect our residents to fit into a rigid routine, we encourage independence and choice around routine, interests, activities, social gatherings, preferred meals and more.
About the Role
As a Homemaker (Personal Care Assistant) you will be responsible for providing daily assistance to our residents to help them live a comfortable and enjoyable life.
Working collaboratively with our nursing team, you will provide high-quality Personal Care to our residents based on their individual needs. This includes assisting them with daily life tasks, Personal Care, and mobility.
You will work with your colleagues to develop and deliver person-centred care plans that focus on healthy and active ageing, and maximising quality of life for each and every client.
Duties include:
- Provide resident directed care using a community care model but in a residential setting that is designed on a domestic environment model. (Each Household is self-contained with dining and lounge areas along with a kitchen for meal preparation)
- Actively support residents to maintain their independence and quality of lifestyle by assisting with all aspects of daily life including showering, personal hygiene, help at mealtimes, general mobility, lifestyle, cleaning and meal preparation.
- Actively support the day-to-day routines in your household that will be unique to the choices and needs of the residents that live there.
- Providing care in accordance with the resident’s individualise Care Plan
Skills and Experience:
- Certificate III / IV in Aged Care
- Experience in aged care (desirable)
- An unrestricted Visa which allows you to work full time hours
- Demonstrated knowledge of and passion for person centred care
- Demonstrated empathy with elderly and a commitment to company values
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative multidisciplinary team environment
- Experience with technology including smartphones, tablets, laptops etc
- Proficiency in written, computer and verbal skills
- Flexibility to work across morning, afternoon and night shifts, 7 days a week
- Able to commit to a minimum of 3 shifts per week (those on a restricted hours student visa need not apply)
