As Chevron's Australian projects continue to evolve, a position has arisen for a Petrophysics to join the Asset Development Team.

Title: Geophysics
Start Date: Negotiable
Employment Type: 1-year casual contract   
Location: Perth CBD
Working Schedule: Monday – Friday (8 hours per day)

The Petrophysics Contractor will:
Technical Competences

  • Have 15+ year of experience in petrophysics.
  • Provide petrophysical support to the Asset Development teams and other ABU assets, as required.
  • Use formation evaluation programs, such as Techlog, to perform a wide spectrum of petrophysical analyses.
  • Development and implementation of petrophysical workflows within the company standard formation evaluation platform (Techlog)
  • Help prepare and review logging programs for Chevron operated exploration, appraisal and development wells. Provide technical support to for both onshore & offshore drilling programmes where required.
  • Evaluate non-operated well results and as required, perform Chevron-standard analyses & generate reservoir statistics for static/dynamic models. Assist earth scientists and reservoir engineers in reservoir model building.
  • Provide technical guidance for routine and special core analysis work programmes.
  • Integrate formation evaluation results with other key disciplines (rock physics, stratigraphy, geologic modelling, reservoir engineering etc.).
  • Provide operational support which might require working outside normal business hours during drilling operations.
  • Participate in peer reviews and petrophysical network activities to share, adopt & disseminate best practices.
  • Generate interpretation reports, covering methodology, results, observations and insights.
  • Complete petrophysics requirements for assurance review teams & RM framework processes.
  • Demonstrate willingness to learn new skills and transfer knowledge to others.
  • Provide mentoring to junior staff.
